Devouring these fleshy leaves, their marbling abaxial,
His veins popped and vined like loose-laid coaxial.
He knew it was too much but believed the counterfactual:
That the relationship ‘tween man and meat was glorious and contractual
Consumption prompted purging - full exocytosis
The sweats were instant everywhere - a deluge of osmosis
Scalp to toe leaking skin was not a state of bliss
And so a doubt sprang to mind: something was amiss
Aware with every thrumming beat of his rising tachycardia
He promised his future self would only eat leaner, not lardier
And purple-faced his body danced a frantic lambadia
Before collapsing on the griddle - fleshy, fatted, primed for this -
… but quickly overdone and charred-ier
